Fighting Impulsivity

Yes, world, I am stalling. Sue me.

I am purposefully wasting my time in the hopes that something brilliant will materialize in my mind and then show up on the computer screen in front of me. I have 3 papers to write for my current online class, but am I going to do them tonight? No. Am I going to pretend to do them? Probably not. I'm probably going to end up making some chocolate pudding, taking a shower and watching HGTV reruns.

Except that this is a horrible idea. See right now, HGTV is airing a show called House Hunters International, following 2 girls from Sweden looking for a surf-house on the coast of France. I'm home alone with a bowl of chocolate pudding, which is often the prequel to most bad decisions. No one logical within an arms reach, no one to stop me...I could go to France right now if I wanted to...

Deep breaths, Marlee. I'm going to Italy this coming spring, and I have found the first lesson of travel (as applied to me, anyway) is to calm down. It is going to be okay, France is not going anywhere, and right now neither am I.

And now I am sad, so just in case, maybe I should get another survey going for country #2? Yes I'll think I'll do that. After Italy in the spring, where should I go next? Remember now, you vote and I go. See the poll on the right!

Ah yes, I feel much better now.

  1. How exciting that you get to go to Italy - that should be amazing! I just got back from Vegas and miss it already, but I really would like to go back to Europe. I have been to France before and love it!

Thanks so much for stopping by and following our If The Shoe Doesn't Fit blog! :)

  2. Why don't you spend your procrastination planning your trip to Italy instead? What do you want to do? What do you want to see? (We could vote on that topic, too. ^^ )

  4. I would like to visit Italy, I keep having to resist as I'm trying to save up for Florida next March so MUST NOT waste money!

France is great, but heavens that photo of The Eiffel Tower gives me shivers, I went right to the top and even now, the horror is hard to get over! lol

  5. How about South Africa? They speak english here, along with 10 other languages. Its in the southern hemisphere, so you could go in you winter to have fun in the sun here. There are beaches, etc. Very neat.

  6. I would've love to vote for Spain, but from what I hear, the political climate out there isn't too stable at the moment. Not sure what that means for tourist, but I'd rather not hear about some impulsive young nutritionist getting kidnapped because she's the only American there without an armed escort... not saying it's that bad out there... just playing out how Murphy's Law may come into effect
(BTW... did you know that I've nicknamed myself "Murphy's Law"? No? Well, it's because it seems that everything that could go wrong around me does... and I seem to be the only common denominator :-/)

  9. I hope you were able to calm down and write your papers ;D Procrastination leads to ulcers and then you wont be able to go on your trip. Write your papers and then have plenty of time to dream about France.

I am a new follower from the blog hop. I hope you will have a moment to come and visit Little Bit and I at: http://socialstudiesmomma.blogspot.com/

  10. Hi, I'm a new follower. I think if it is in your heart to go to France you should plan to go there next (I would love to see either France or Italy, so have fun!)

That said I live in Australia and think it is an awesome place to visit too (saw it on your poll.)

Did you eventually calm down. It is so hard for me at times since I just want to travel as well.

  11. Hello from FTLOB! College is definitely the time to procrastinate and do what you want. I just graduated a few years ago and my only regret is that I didn't party more. Or go to Cancun for a wild Spring Break trip. Live it up!!

  15. Thanks for stopping by my blog and becoming a follower! This post reminded me of me. I get kind of panicy about having so many places I want to travel, and feeling like I need to go immediately. Good luck choosing your next country! I would offer you some options, but I am overwhelmed just thinking of all the possibilities haha
